Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competes with the UFC flyweight division. She's older than her fellow UFC Fighter and previous UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sport career in the form of an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko did well in the competition and was defeated by Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an one-sided decision. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 and a medal that was bronze in 2008 as well as a medal gold in 2011. In addition, she was named IFMA Amateur Muaythai World Champ in the year 2016. Antonia's professional debut was in 2003. She won in 2012 in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won it was the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final fight took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won the fight via unanimous decision. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight in 2002 with Anara bayanova in the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She took victory with a TKO after the first round. She then was able to take home her next two fights at the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. She was able to earn a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback at the end of 2017 in a fight with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in an unanimous vote. She left in 2018 the league and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's striking skills were superior and permitted her to TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. After this win, Antonina was awarded a UFC deal. Antonina took part in her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, to be fought by Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi by a split-decision fight. She won the initial bout by unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss after defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler with a back-naked choke. The result earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko was defeated by Katlyn Cookagian, but she won Ariane Lipski's three fights. Antonina last week lost via TKO in round two to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
